ESSC presents a golden opportunity to own a beautiful example of vintage SUV style, with this lightly modified 1969 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. This fine example has been meticulously maintained by the current owner over the last 3 years. Shortly prior to his ownership the SUV went through a complete restoration and was given a long list of upgrades and modifications. Let’s get started with the power plant. This FJ features a newly rebuilt Chevy 350 motor with 2 Barrel carburation. The owner states that there are less than 1000 miles on the motor. The 350 is mated to a solid, mid 80’s Toyota 5 speed transmission. Don’t let the pristine condition fool you. True to its heritage this work horse can handle the chores it was designed to do. The drivetrain includes a rear made for hard work and rough terrain, generating 4000 RPMS at 55 miles per hour, in top gear. Further enhancements include the following: Wilwood disc brakes with stainless steel brake lines, Old Man Emus suspension and stabilizers, Magnaflow Exhaust. GoodRich All Terrain Tires mounted on original hubs and caps, Dakota Digital Harness, original heater (no blower) and original wiper motor. Finished in its Forest Green, it has a very clean interior with no rips or tears in the upholstery. There a some very minimal areas of rust around the door hinges and windows. They are of the surface variety (see our pictures for details). The odometer is presently not working but the owner states it is small part needed to regain functionality. The top is removable. 60’s SUVs in this condition, with modifications that afford reliability, while staying true to their heritage, do not come by often. This example is offered at 39,500 OBO. Research will show that same year examples have recently sold at auction for considerably higher. Have questions? Contact Hank at hank@easternshoreclassiccars.com or text to 201-317-9277.
